My Piano Sonata was written through autumn 2012 and early spring 2013, during the last year of my studies at the Grieg Academy. The piece is dedicated to pianist Christian H. Grøvlen, who not only premiered the piece but also had a big impact on the music through our fruitful collaboration, starting with early abstract conversations and ending in working out details in the first draft of the finished piece.
