Rigoroso Cantabile was written for a workshop with Trondheim Symphony Orchestra during my studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music. The piece was written as an exploration of a single large chord encompassing the whole register of the orchestra, where different registers and orchestral colors are varied throughout until the entire chord sounds for a brief moment in the end.
